Yesterday was a big containment day for the Nanny Goat Fire. Containment is now at 80% and teams are extinguishing vegetation that holds heat. The perimeter has been mapped at 45 acres. An investigation determined that the wildfire was started by a campfire.

Utah Fire Info has reported that the Nanny Goat Fire displayed moderate fire behavior overnight. Firefighters are constructing the fireline today, and investigators are on scene to determine the cause.
Estimated size is 75 acres and containment is 5 percent. Steep and rocky terrain will be a challenge as firefighters engage in direct suppression tactics and construct the fireline.
There’s a fire on the mountain to the north of town. Currently, no structures are being threatened. We’ll keep you updated here with information as we receive it. Please avoid the area and don’t fly drones. Will will monitor the fire throughout the night.
